Pipes

Was bored today looking up some old school stuff. Came across this pic of the Desert Pipes from Skateboarder Magazine from the late 70's.



I was lucky enough to make the trip out to the pipes and skate them all day when I was like 12 years old. Went out there with my friend Dave's older brother Rob Santa Cruz and a couple of his buddy's. One of the cats that was with us was Rob Bell. He was getting down... going majorly high in the pipe. I remember being totally stoked and wanting to get up there. I started getting the hang of it by the end of the day but never got to high. We never did go back. A once in a life time trip that kicked ass!
